One of ten winners named from Dakota and Scott counties
Diedrich RPM of Burnsville, Minnesota, was named one of the area’s Employers of Excellence on May 13, 2021. The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board recognized 10 area organizations as Employers of Excellence for employee retention, compensation, and training practices. The Workforce Development Board wanted to identify and recognize some of the best employers in Dakota and Scott counties and provide vital information to companies about their practices to attract and retain employees.
Each participant completed a 40-question survey that allowed their employment practices to be analyzed by a consulting firm. Every organization participating in the survey received a 20-page report detailing the information on their company and the survey results. Employers were evaluated on numerous metrics.
Program sponsors included Dakota County Community Development Agency, Scott County Community Development Agency, Inver Hills Community College, and Dakota County Technical College.
Key factors that led to Diedrich RPM being named an Employer of Excellence included:
· A high employee promotion rate
· Investments in employee training and development
· 100% voluntary retirement program “401k” enrollments
· Employee health plan enrollments.
Innovative practices included:
· Sponsoring non-U.S. citizens in their endeavors to get H-1B work visas.
· Work from home for employees for the two weeks before Thanksgiving through the two weeks after Christmas.

The Employer of Excellence recognition comes on the heels of Diedrich RPM being named as one of the top 30 PR firms in Minneapolis by Expertise.com in April. The website recognized DRPM for overall excellence, web design, and digital marketing.
